DTUs Biotech Lifelong Learning program is seeking a dynamic and accomplished course developer to design and teach lifelong learning courses in the thriving field of biotech and biopharma production.

As part of our new initiative in lifelong learning, we are at the forefront of delivering a range of courses tailored to the rapidly expanding biomanufacturing industry. These lifelong learning initiatives represent a collaborative endeavor between DTU Chemical Engineering, DTU Bioengineering, DTU Biosustain, and the renowned Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) at North Carolina State University (USA), and is generously supported by grants from the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF).

Skilled educator with a desire to collaborate with industry to develop new courses
We are seeking an exceptional educator with a desire to drive these initiatives, with the ability to not only teach but also pioneer course development in the domain of biomanufacturing. While our primary focus remains on enhancing our existing courses, there is tremendous potential for you to shape new courses through dynamic collaborations with local industry leaders. Join us and be a catalyst for innovation in the field of biotech and biopharma.

As our new colleague, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and refining educational materials to create engaging and effective learning resources.
  • Teach at courses tailored for industry professionals, covering a diverse range of biomanufacturing topics. 
  • Meticulously planning and delivering both theoretical lectures and hands-on practical exercises to ensure comprehensive learning experiences. 
  • Continuously assessing and enhancing the courses you teach, fostering a culture of constant improvement. 
  • Collaborating closely with the administrative team to strategize and implement robust marketing strategies that drive the success and visibility of our courses.

Background in biomanufacturing industry 
We are looking for a skilled teacher with a deep comprehension of the biomanufacturing industry, with a solid theoretical background in biotechnology and industrial bioprocesses. You should be proficient in catering to learners at various levels, adapting your teaching approach to meet their diverse needs in a professional and inclusive manner.

We are looking for a profile with:

  • A relevant educational background at either the bachelor's or master's level.
  • A comprehensive understanding of biomanufacturing, acquired through academic and practical experiences. 
  • Ideally, a well-rounded background that encompasses both research laboratory and industry experience. 
  • A proven track record in teaching. 
  • A history of contributing to course development. 
  • Excellent communication skills in English, enabling you to effectively communicate with non-native English-speaking course participants.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as an Academic Officer.

The position is a 1-year position, and we can be flexible on the number of hours per week ranging from 25 to 37. Starting date is 1 march 2024 (or according to mutual agreement). An extension of the position will depend on new funding’s. 

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus (and might occasionally be at Kalundborg)
