DTU Skylab is looking for a start-up analyst that can help us get a deeper understanding of the value created from DTU startups, how we can become even better in helping them on their way and communicate the impact of this field to the surrounding world.
You will be part of DTU Skylab’s section
for Start-up Support and Business Development and work very closely with DTU’s central Office for Research, Advice, and Innovation.
What you will do
You will have the role of collecting and analyzing data on DTU start-ups and making sure we are up to date on their journeys. You will also play a crucial role in creating and updating case studies and developing a strong data-driven foundation which shows the impact of start-ups built by DTU’s students and researchers.
Primary tasks include:
- To be a point of contact between start-ups and DTU in their venture journeys, also after they leave campus.
- Collect data about DTU start-ups from relevant sources incl. data from CVR register, annual reports.
- Conduct start-up surveys and questionnaires.
- Update and collect data on relevant platforms such as Crunchbase and Pitchbook.
- Conduct statistics and analyses on DTU start-ups.
- Media surveillance within the startup space.
- Conduct and update start-up cases used in presentations, applications etc.
Who you are
You have an analytical background and are strong in quantitative methods. You thrive in a very vibrant environment with many activities, projects and people, and you would like to help take a leading ecosystem to the next level.
In addition, you have:
- Relevant educational background at bachelor or master level
- Experience in collecting data, conducting analyses within the relevant fields (start-up, business, research, education)
- Experience in conducting surveys and/or questionnaires
- A data-driven mindset and an understanding of how to use new data analytics tools
- Understanding of and interest in innovation & entrepreneurship
- Strong networking skills, good at meeting new people
- Good abilities to work independently, - result-oriented with a focus on creating value, collaboration and communication
- A relevant higher education
- Excellent communication skills in both Danish and English
- Experience from working with the start-up ecosystem is a plus.

DTU Skylab
is the innovation hub of DTU. We are a vibrant community with a diverse set of activities such as curricular courses, company collaborations, and start-up support programmes. In the 10 years that DTU Skylab has existed, it has become a leading innovation hub with 5000+ m2 of innovation space, around 60 employees and a strong international outreach. Terms of employment
Salary and employment terms are according to the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or similar. Start date is 1st of March 2024 or as soon as possible after.
The team of innovation partners is part of a larger section of around 20 colleagues in total, supporting business development across both students’ and researchers’ startup projects. You will refer to the Section Head, Stine Kruse.
You will be employed at DTU Skylab, and the workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus, Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.
