In the BioEngine Group at DTU Health Tech you will break new ground at the absolute forefront of what is possible by developing minimally invasive hydrogels for in vivo biosensing.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Your primarily responsible will be to design, develop and characterize hydrogels that can be used to sense a wide variety of biophysical parameters of relevance of human health. In more detail, we expect the following:

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
  • A master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, physics or similar is required.
  • Be excellent in establishing an overview and take responsibility.
  • Ability to plan and carry out complicated tasks.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge or experience on the subjects of hydrogel characterization, cell studies and electrical measurements.

Approval and Enrolment 
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. For information about our enrolment requirements and the general planning of the PhD study programme, please see DTU's rules for the PhD education

Salary and appointment terms 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. 

The period of employment is 3 years. The starting date is 15 August 2024 and the position is full-time.
