We seek a coordinator to support our project leaders on projects in our Climate Economics and Risk Management Section. You will have various tasks related to our projects, from project management and stakeholder communication to modelling and data management.

Are you interested in impact assessments related to weather and climate risks like flooding, heat waves, droughts, and storms? Do you enjoy working with advanced modelling tools, GIS, big data, and software development in an interdisciplinary research environment? And do you have a flair for managing international projects? Then you might be the perfect candidate for our current vacancy.

The job
You will be part of a dynamic international team, supporting ongoing activities and projects. Your immediate responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and updating our existing Danish and international databases on climate extremes and their consequences
  • Running simulations using our suite of impact and assessment models
  • Maintain and implement new methods developed and piloted in research projects into our modelling suite
  • Development of associated training materials and manuals
  • Support project management procedures, including developing work plans jointly with internal and external project partners, periodic reporting, etc.
  • Interactions and communication with stakeholders and project partners
  • Support and participate in various project work.

Additionally, your CV comprises:   

  • Expertise with modelling tools and data management 
  • Knowledge of climate change assessment
  • Good project management skills
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, responsibility, team spirit and excellent collaboration skills
  • Capability of working on your own initiative when appropriate
  • Experience in communication and collaboration with stakeholders and practitioners
  • Strong oral and written skills in Danish and English – our communication language is English.
  • MSc in Engineering, Geography, or another relevant field. A PhD is a plus.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union and take into account the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

The position is time-limited to 3 years. The position is full-time, with a preferred starting date no later than 1 January 2024 (or according to mutual agreement). 

The place of work will be DTU Lyngby Campus.
