We are looking for a part-time (8 hours pr. week) employee with an interest in sustainable microbiology.
The job
Our group is developing and applying molecular tools for various bacteria in order to develop bacterial cell factories for the sustainable production of bulk chemicals. We are looking for a student assistant who is motivated and proactive to help us with various projects within this area of research. Your tasks will involve cleaning duties, media preparation, PCRs, cloning, among other.
Our expectations of you
We expect that you have knowledge in the fields of microbiology and molecular biology (maybe you are enrolled as a master student). It is a requirement that you to have basic lab skills like media preparation, running PCR and gel electrophoresis, cloning and sequencing of plasmids, culturing of bacterial cells. It is further an advantage if you have experience in working with various bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis
, Pseudomonas putida
, and E. coli
. Good communication skills and English are further required.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the multi-union collective agreement for the Organisations of Public Employees—Denmark (State) (OAO-S) and the trade union agreement for clerical staff etc. (HK/State) or the appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus (DTU Biosustain).
Working hours are on average 8 hours per week and can be organized flexibly in relation to holidays, exams, etc.
Starting date is as soon as possible. The employment is for 1 year.
