The job
Your job is to help us build a platform which will allow users to keep track of research projects and the data generated within them. You will do so using a Python framework for data management systems, CKAN, and integrating it with existing DTU systems.

Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Work together with a team of scientists and engineers to develop a full-stack application built on top of the CKAN framework.
  • Provide recommendations of good practices to be followed when using the platform.
  • Integrate your solutions with existing systems, while making sure of the software’s security, stability, and robustness.
  • Devise data models for the metadata schemas in your solution.

Your ideas and inputs e.g., new methods, tools and analysis are highly welcomed.

Our expectations of you
Education in Computer Science with a sound understanding of CKAN and Full-stack development.

We are looking for a profile with the motivation and drive needed for making a difference that matters. As you will join a multidisciplinary team, you must bring a flexible and adaptable mindset. Additionally, you must like to create results via collaboration with people with different professional and cultural backgrounds. To succeed, it is also important that you thrive on making decisions based on limited information. Additionally, your CV comprises of:

  • Master’s degree or higher in the field of Computer Science or similar.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in CKAN.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in full-stack development (preferably with Python as a back-end language).
  • Understanding of server-side rendering.
  • Hands-on experience with git or other version-control systems.
  • Ability to code in multiple languages, such as Python, JavaScript, CSS etc. based on the need of the project.
  • Experience with cyber security.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

The position is a full-time position. Starting date is 1. January 2024 or as soon as possible hereafter (according to mutual agreement).

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus, at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability, DTU Biosustain.
