Do you see yourself thriving in a vibrant research environment where cutting edge technologies for healthcare are developed? We are looking for a skilled and experienced lab and project manager to contribute to the development of innovative health technologies and smart biointerfaces. You will be setting up and managing the new laboratory of the research line “optomechanical biointerfaces”, coordinated by Prof. Massimo De Vittorio, and you will be involved in managing projects in the research section IDUN, led by Prof. Anja Boisen at the DTU Department of Health Technology. IDUN is a highly cross-disciplinary research section with over 50 members that focuses on the development of micro and nanotechnology-based sensors, detection systems, and drug-delivery devices.
The new laboratory on smart optomechanical biointerfaces is aimed at producing cutting edge piezoelectric technologies for the body of humans and animal models: smart piezoelectric pills for drug delivery on demand, multifunctional implantable probes for the brain and skin piezoelectric sensors.
This is your chance to become part of a collaborative research environment where you can chart an uncommonly diverse career and make an impact on the health of people.
The job
Your role will be to help in a) training and supervising undergraduate and PhD students and postdocs in the newly developed laboratory, b) managing the equipment and lab, c) following all the phases of selected projects of the IDUN section (e.g. procurement, maintenance, reporting, etc…) and d) communication, including update of homepage and social media. The role also includes participating in the research team meetings, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring that all laboratory processes adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and safety.
The technical work includes performing experiments and being responsible for maintaining a clean and organized laboratory, ensuring correct and efficient laboratory workflows, stockkeeping and laboratory upkeep.
The project management work includes keeping track of the project deadlines (deliverables, milestones and reporting deadlines) and managing the budget in terms of financial flow and reporting.
Our expectations of you
You must hold a PhD degree in a scientific or technological field, alternative a MSc degree with at least two years of experience in an academic or industrial research laboratory.
Experience in a research environment and with advanced laboratory equipment is mandatory. The successful candidate must also demonstrate involvement in research projects and knowledge of project management. It will be an advantage to be able to communicate in writing and orally in Danish.
