We seek a part-time assistant willing to be part of a research environment and contribute to the development of satellite climate data records for understanding climate change.
As part of the international ESA CCI programme DTU is processing the global sea ice concentration from the satellite Nimbus 5 ESMR microwave radiometer data for extending the sea ice climate data records back in time. Version 2 of the dataset has recently been completed and now the data are added to the ESA climate office datastore including documentation. The dataset will also be published in a scientific publication. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong background in python data processing, illustration and writing.
Responsibilities and qualifications

A successful candidate will have a solid background in the four following points:
- Scientific python programming
- Excellent use of the English language
- Good ability to prepare scientific papers for publication in international journals
- Machine learning techniques, statistics, and probabilities
As a formal qualification, you must hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
The period of employment is permanent. The position is a part-time position. Working hours are 8 hours per week. Starting date is as soon as possible.
