Join DTU's student innovation team as a student assistant for global sustainability initiatives

We are looking for a student assistant for our Student Innovation Team who will help us coordinate and communicate about our programmes, such as the  Next Generation [ ] Action programme  – a flagship initiative anchored at DTU Skylab and DTU Sustain focused on engaging the next generation of change makers in global sustainability challenges.  

Primary areas of responsibility  

  • Co-programme coordination  
    Support the coordination and delivery of programme activities, ensuring that sessions and events run smoothly. This includes assisting with planning and preparation of programme materials and supporting the overall programme structure. The role also involves back-office coordination, including preparing event invitations, managing participant communication, and helping organise and coordinate virtual sessions with partners and participants. 
  • Communication support  
    Contribute to the programme’s communication and visibility by supporting social media activities and maintaining relevant web pages. The role includes collecting stories, photos and updates from programme activities and coordinating content with internal teams and external partners. You will also support internal community engagement across the programme’s stakeholder network. 

As a person, you are proactive, inventive, and accustomed to having different tasks on your plate at the same time and ready to solve tasks ad hoc. You must be a good finisher with attention to detail and organization. You are welcoming and are always at eye level with people around you.  

 We are looking for a student: 

  • Preferably at 2nd or 3rd year of bachelor with interest to join our team more than a single semester. 
  • With good communication skills in both written and spoken English. Experience with general communication and graphic design (InDesign, Illustrator) is preferred. 
  • With interest in sustainability, innovation, entrepreneurship.
  • With interest in engaging in the student and start-up community at DTU and extended global network.
  • That is ambitious and quality-conscious, and takes pride in delivering high-quality results. 
  • That is self-responsible and a team player at the same time and can take responsibility for tasks as well as programme elements.

The work gives you insight into project management and development work, while allowing you to see and get involved in how start-ups and development teams work and shape themselves. There will be contact with many different professional groups, companies and other exciting players, and overall, you will be able to expand your network and your abilities. 

You will be part of the Student Innovation Team of 10 people and a dedicated ‘Next Generation [ ] Action’ team with a senior team leader and two innovation consultants at DTU Skylab, and with the Head of Innovation and two researchers at DTU Sustain. 

The employment may also offer the opportunity to take on tasks connected to other projects and activities at DTU Skylab.

DTU Skylab is located at the main DTU Campus in Lyngby and is housed in a facility of 5500 square meters, complete with labs, workshops, auditoriums, open spaces, and project rooms. We are a cross-disciplinary learning environment used by various institutes at DTU.

Salary and appointment terms
Salary is by the hour and appointment terms are in accordance with the OAO-S Joint Agreement and the organization agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Technicians and IT staff (HK/stat).

Working hours are on average 12-15 hours per week, depending on the candidate’s availability and can be organized flexibly in relation to holidays, exams, etc. 

Starting as soon as possible (or according to mutual agreement).

You will be employed at DTU Skylab, and the workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus, Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.
