DTU Biosustain is a cutting-edge research center dedicated to advancing research in sustainable biotechnological solutions. We are looking for dedicated and organized Laboratory Manager to join our team and support our core activities by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents, and facilitating day-to-day laboratory operations. Responsibilities and qualifications
As a laboratory manager, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Maintenance of Laboratory Equipment : Ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment by conducting routine maintenance tasks and coordinating repairs when necessary.
- Preparation and Supply of Reagents: Prepare and supply common chemicals and biological reagents to support ongoing research projects.
- Organizational Tasks: Facilitate day-to-day laboratory operations by coordinating tasks among group members and shared responsibilities within the research center.
- Laboratory Meetings: Organize and manage laboratory meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and documentation of meeting minutes.
- Common Collections and Spaces: Maintain and organize common collections and laboratory spaces for optimal efficiency and functionality.
- Research Support: Provide support to selected research projects through molecular microbiological work, including construction of plasmids, strains, and verification thereof.
Qualifications:
- As a formal qualification, you must have a master’s degree in engineering or a relevant, related scientific field (e.g., Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry).
- Previous experience in laboratory management and technical support roles.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in molecular microbiological techniques, including plasmid construction and strain verification.
- Previous experience in handling Pseudomonas strains is particularly valuable.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and best practices.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 2 years. Starting date is 1st of January 2024 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
