The center Applied Thermodynamics - Center for Chemical Resources Engineering at DTU Chemical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a position as Laboratory Technician.

The Center’s work relies on laboratory experiments in a wide variety of areas, including high pressure equipment and applications in the area of carbon capture and storage.

Your role as our new  Laboratory Technician will be to support  the experimental research and teaching program in the center, as part of a team of two lab technicians.

You will also co-ordinate the purchase of lab equipment and supplies – including large-scale and advanced setups.

The job will consist of the following tasks:
Experimental tasks:

  • Performing experiments related to carbon capture and storage
  • Performing high pressure experiments in a range of PVT equipment 
  • Flow experiments for core flooding, phase equilibrium, gas hydrates etc.
  • CT-scanning of core samples and other objects
  • Support teaching activities especially in the area of colloid and interface science

GLP and lab maintenance:

  • Ordering equipment – following the complete process including acquisition and installation
  • Ordering and registration of chemicals 
  • Responsibility for laboratory safety. 
  • Maintenance of laboratory procedures and documents
  • Participation in the departmental works committee (“arbejdsmiljøudvalget”)

Our expectations of you
You are an experienced lab technician with a background and experience in several of the topics mentioned above.  We are looking for an efficient worker, who has good communication skills, and is a team player. As the lab is in a growth phase we expect a significant amount of time dedicated to procurement and dealing with the various stakeholders in this process.

Salary and appointment terms
Salary and appointment terms are in accordance with the OAO-S Joint Agreement and the organization agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Technicians and IT staff (HK/stat) signed with the Danish Ministry of Finance or other relevant organisation.

The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The position is permanent. Expected starting date 1 November 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
