Would you like to become the leading project manager for a European research and innovation consortium about new AI-based hearing technology? Are you able to drive large-scale projects within a complex landscape of many European stakeholders?
Then this position may be an excellent fit for you.
We are seeking a senior project manager for a fixed‑term, three‑year appointment to coordinate and manage the EU‑funded research and innovation project WeHear

The project’s mission is to create next-generation audio-visual hearing assistive solutions that use video to identify and enhance relevant sounds in order to help people with hearing loss communicate in everyday noisy environments.
As senior project manager, you will play a central role in ensuring effective governance, high‑quality project execution, contractual compliance, and scientific impact across the consortium. You will be working closely with the EU, the Project Coordinator, Executive Board, and work package leaders across Europe.
The job
The senior project manager will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership and coordination of the project and acts as the primary interface with the European Commission. Key responsibilities include:

- Acting as the primary contact with the European Commission and ensuring alignment with Horizon Europe requirements
- Managing the Grant Agreement and Consortium Agreement, ensuring partner compliance with contractual, legal, and administrative obligations
- Coordinating the preparation, review, and submission of deliverables, periodic reports, and financial statements, and supporting partners in financial and reporting procedures

- Developing and maintaining the project’s risk management and mitigation plan and coordinating ethics procedures in collaboration with the project’s Ethics Advisor
- Coordinating the External Expert Advisory Board and supporting strategic scientific and innovation alignment
- Overseeing the project’s Data Management Plan, ensuring compliance with FAIR principles, GDPR, and EC Open Science requirements
- Supporting intellectual property management, innovation activities, and exploitation planning across the consortium
- Leading dissemination and communication activities, including the Plan for Exploitation and Dissemination of Results, and representing the project in EU networks and clustering activities
Our expectations of you
We are looking for a highly qualified and proactive professional with:
- Experience managing EU‑funded research and innovation projects or major research initiatives, preferably Horizon Europe
- Strong expertise in project governance, reporting, financial coordination, and EU compliance
- Proven ability to work with large, multidisciplinary, international consortia
- Excellent organisational, documentation, and communication skills in English
- The ability to operate independently and take leadership responsibility in a complex project environment
As a person, you are skilled at building bridges and thrive in a role where not everything is defined in advance. You are analytical, structured, decisive and enjoy working in a research environment with many stakeholders. Experience with research projects in AI, digital health, or advanced sensing technologies is considered an advantage.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a master’s degree.
