Responsibilities and qualifications
Your primary goal will be to drive innovation in robotics and mechatronics, contributing to advanced design and control systems that push the limits of automation and intelligent motion. You’ll work closely with a team of experts, both within the department and through collaborations with leading academic and industry partners.

Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Design and develop robotic and mechatronic systems
  • Simulate robot systems for testing and optimization
  • Implement low-level motor control and programming
  • Integrate and maintain ROS/ROS2 for robotic applications
  • Develop control algorithms and tune them for precision
  • Conduct experiments and evaluate system performance
  • Support and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in mechatronic design and robotics simulation
  • Strong programming skills for embedded systems and motor control
  • Proficiency with ROS/ROS2 in robotic applications
  • Solid foundation in control theory and algorithm development
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams

You must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.

Approval and Enrolment  
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. For information about our enrolment requirements and the general planning of the PhD study programme, please see DTU's rules for the PhD education

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. 

The period of employment is 3 years. The starting date is 1 February 2025 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
