BEMÆRK: Ansøgningsfristen er overskredet

Do you want to be part of the development of core technologies of the green transition? This PhD scholarship offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of the development of ion-conducting membranes for alkaline water electrolysis. Conversion of electrical energy from wind turbines and solar cells into fuels by electrolysis is paramount in the green transition and ion-conducting polymer membranes are key to high performance of next generation electrolyzers.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus in the projects will be synthesis, manufacturing and materials characterization. Your work will be experimental and involve multiple techniques, some of which we might have to develop together.

You need the following specific qualifications:

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree
  • A background in chemistry. Organic, inorganic and polymer chemistry are all relevant.
  • Knowledge of and preferably experimental experience in electrochemistry
  • A background in polymer chemistry, organic/inorganic chemistry or similar fields
  • Candidates with knowledge on advanced membranes and organic/inorganic frameworks are welcomed

Moreover, you will take part in our teaching of BSc and MSc students in student projects and/or in the ordinary courses as Teaching Assistant.

The scholarship is offered in close collaboration with Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm as part of a strategic alliance between the two institutions. You will work with a matching PhD student from there and have and co-supervisor from KTH assigned to you. You are also expected to have an external stay at KTH as part of the scholarship.

Approval and Enrolment
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. For information about our enrolment requirements and the general planning of the PhD study programme, please see DTU's rules for the PhD education
