At DTU Nanolab we are expanding our activities with a process line for chip packaging and are thus looking for a project manager who will take responsibility for setting up such a facility. DTU Nanolab is among the world’s best-equipped open access facilities within nanofabrication and characterization. We are located at and fully owned by the Technical University of Denmark just north of Copenhagen. A new packaging line will be an integrated part of the open access facility enabling in-house finalization of micro- and nano fabricated chips as interconnected and encapsulated components.
The primary areas of responsibility of the project manager will be to:
- Take part in identifying and installing the relevant tools required for precise interconnection of semiconductors, photonic and quantum components.
- Plan and implement state-of-the art backend process lines aligned with user needs and research trends.
- Establish procedures for user training, equipment maintenance, process development and knowledge sharing in collaboration with the technical and administrative staff at DTU Nanolab.
The project manager position requires a high level of organizational skills. There are many stakeholders to relate to, i.e. customers, users, technical staff and equipment providers.
You should have a university degree in science or engineering within a relevant field, such as Micro/Nanofabrication, Physics, Photonics or similar.
Furthermore, we expect you to have some of the following skills:
- Hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge of backend processes such as wire bonding, optical connection, flip chip bonding, fine placing, encapsulation materials and interposer technology.
- Previous experience with equipment procurement and installation.
- Project management skills in infrastructure or facility projects.
- An open mind and curiosity towards novel ideas and methods within device packaging.
- The ability to actively communicate with people from different organizational entities.
- Excellent in oral and written English, working knowledge of Danish is an advantage
Initially, there is no direct personnel leadership involved in this position (we expect however significant growth in this area).

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
The position is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible, preferably no later than Marts 2025 or according to mutual agreement.
