Applications are invited for a position as Research Assistant at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UCPH). The position is available for 6 months from 1 August 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Job description
The Research Assistant will collaborate with Associate Professor Mathias Wullum Nielsen and Postdoc Claudia Acciai on a project focusing on national- and institution-related status dynamics in science, financed by the Carlsberg Foundation.

As part of a small research team, the Research Assistant will assist the team in designing and conducting a survey experiment and carrying out various forms of quantitative data analysis.

Your Competencies and Opportunities
The candidate must have obtained a Master degree, preferably within the social sciences, information science, computer science, or related fields.
In assessing candidates’ qualifications, emphasis will be placed on:

  • Good results from the Master’s program
  • Strong quantitative methods skills
  • Experience with or interest in research, innovation, and higher education
  • Familiarity with commonly used scientific scripting language (e.g. SQL and R) and experience working with online survey tools (e.g. SurveyXact or Qualtrics) will be a plus but is not required.
