Strategic project lead sought for advancing nanotechnology at DTU Nanolab

DTU Nanolab is constantly expanding capabilities and expertise. This is best practiced in research and development projects together with partners and customers. We are seeking a staff member that has broad and deep technical knowledge and is able to identify key R&D projects as well as build consortia and initiate project applications that are within the strategic scope of DTU Nanolab.

Job content
As the strategic Project Lead, you will identify projects and consortia that match Nanolab’s capabilities with demands in industry and academia. Further you will identify projects that will expand Nanolab’s technological capabilities and expertise, build consortia around these projects and initiate funding applications. As, in many cases these new areas will require initial estimates and first lab demonstrators, a substantial part of the job will also consist of hands-on fabrication and characterization carried out Nanolab’s facilities.

Qualifications
You must have a Master of Science degree, a Ph.D. degree or have acquired similar education within a relevant field, such as Micro/Nanofabrication, Physics, Microelectronics, or similar. 

We expect you to have: 

  • At least 10 years of industrial experience within cleanroom fabrication (frontend and backend) 
  • Ability to collaborate with both academic and commercial users
  • Thorough knowledge of nano-fabrication methods like lithography (UV, DUV, e-beam), wet chemical etching, dry etching, thin film deposition and process characterization, backend and packaging
  • Several years of experience with planning and executing cleanroom process flows
  • A broad network within the Danish/European semiconductor industry and an in depth understanding of its requirements and timelines
  • Deep knowledge of common semiconductor materials like silicon and III-V semiconductors
  • Master Danish and English - both verbal and written

Furthermore, it is desirable that you:

  • Are actively communicating and curious
  • Are self-driven and team oriented
  • Have the ability to inspire and engage 
  • Have a wholehearted enthusiasm for semiconductor technology 

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). 

The position is a full-time position. Starting as early as possible with respect to mutual agreement. As Strategic Lead you will report to the Head of Fabrication Support. 

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.

DTU Nanolab is a common infrastructure and research facility located at and fully owned by the Technical University of Denmark, DTU. The core facilities consist of a large cleanroom and a state-of-the-art electron microscopy center. The research activities carried out at DTU Nanolab span from nano- and microfabrication with Silicon-based materials, carbon and polymers to the highly sophisticated analysis of nanoscale materials in hard and soft matter.
