BEMÆRK: Ansøgningsfristen er overskredet

The Computational Protein Engineering (CPE) group at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Centre for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain) is creating and characterizing novel protein/enzyme variants to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to the most pressing issues facing our societies in terms of bioproduction and bioremediation. To accelerate this work, we need an employee with academic background to support the establishment of the required scientific infrastructures.

We are looking for a structured and independent part time employee to help us perform support functions that form the basis for experiments in the dry lab. You thrive within an interdisciplinary environment at a world-class research centre and are interested in providing academic support for research activities aimed at improving proteins using state-of-the-art experimental and computational methods.

When joining our group, you get the opportunity to apply the latest algorithms in machine learning for improving protein function, for instance, enzyme activity, selectivity, or stability, etc. We currently work with enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of natural products and biochemicals.

The job
Primary areas of responsibility:

  • Support the team members within the CPE research group with computational activities.
  • Present and report your results within the CPE research group.
  • Support collaboration within the CPE research group, across DTU and with our international network.
  • Coordinate activities and support tasks within basic tasks in programming, data science and machine learning.
  • Academic support of projects aimed at designing new protein/enzyme variants using computational methods.

Our expectations of you
You have a bachelor’s degree (Bachelor in Science or BSc) in natural sciences (e.g., Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics), excellent organizational skills and an interest in supporting wet lab projects.

Since our group is a highly international environment, you have a good level of English, and you have flair for providing a professional service. Furthermore, you thrive in working independently and have a keen eye on details

What we offer in return
At DTU, you will be part of one of Europe's leading research and educational institutions. You enter an organization that aims to develop knowledge at an international level. You can look forward to a challenging and developing workplace with high professionalism. Of course, we make sure that you get the necessary sparring and competence development at the same time.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC)

The position is a part time position (15 h per week). Starting date is according to mutual agreement. Tentatively we aim for a start date of October1st, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.
