We are looking for a student/part-time assistant who will help us design, coordinate and deliver on activities that are part of the program “Technology Leaving no one Behind” – a flagship initiative anchored at DTU Skylab to foster inclusive innovation, entrepreneurship, and education. 

Primary areas of responsibility

  • Events & Workshops:  As a team member, you will build and grow your skills as a Junior Facilitator of workshops focused on inclusion and universal design, as well as other events for internal and external partners. You will work with experienced facilitators to support the backstage planning and set-up of events with our excellent event team and the facilitation. Giving you an A-Z experience in designing and running innovation events at various scales, including program setup, preparing facilitator’s manuals, recruiting, catering, etc.
  • Communication & Recruitment:  You will work closely with the project, community and communication team at Skylab to create visibility for the program and share information about opportunities, achievements, and insights with students and other relevant external audiences. This may include taking pictures, creating short-form video content and conducting short interviews. You will help reach students and others with relevant content on various platforms. Most importantly, provide your perspectives on the programme offers to ensure we continuously design and plan according to what matches students' interests and availability.
  • Graphic design & Visual Identity:  Bring your ideas and skills into play by helping the team further develop the program's visual Identity with great attention to inclusion, accessibility and design. Co-creation of graphic materials used for, i.e. SoMe, print materials, PowerPoint templates with sparring and input from Skylab colleagues within communication and graphics.
  • Coordination: With support from the innovation consultant and team lead, you will take part in coordinating tasks for the programme. You will gain experience in planning activities related to one of Skylab's largest programs to date and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the program.

As a person, you are proactive, inventive, and accustomed to having different tasks on your plate at the same time and ready to solve tasks ad hoc. You must be a good finisher with attention to detail and organization. You are welcoming and are always at eye level with people around you.

Our expectations of you

  • Preferably at 2nd or 3rd year of bachelor with interest to join our team more than a single semester
  • With good communication skills in both written and spoken English. Experience with general communication and graphic design (InDesign, Illustrator, Figma) is preferred. 
  • With interest in sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship. If you have experience of working with Universal Design or inclusive technologies, even better, but not a requirement.
  • With interest in engaging in the student and start-up community at DTU 
  • Good at maintaining the overview when it is hectic.
  • Preferably with some prior workshop experience and use of general design methods.
  • That is ambitious and quality-conscious, and takes pride in delivering high-quality results

Salary and appointment terms
If you have yet to obtain a bachelor’s degree, you will be titled as ‘Student Assistant’, and your appointment will be based according to the multi-union collective agreement for the Organization of Public Employees – Denmark (State) (OAO-S) and the trade union agreement for clerical staff etc. (HK/State). If you hold a bachelor’s degree your title will be ‘Part-time Assistant’ and your appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

Expected starting date is 1 August 2024. Working hours are on average 12 hours per week and can be organized flexibly in relation to holidays, exams, etc. Starting date is as soon as possible (or according to mutual agreement). The employment runs as long as you are an active student.

You will be employed at DTU Skylab, and the workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus, Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.

You will be part of a dedicated ‘Technology Leaving No One Behind’ team of 7 with a senior team leader, an innovation consultant, 2 fellow student assistants at DTU Skylab, a PhD student and an Associate Professor at DTU Entrepreneurship. 

However, the employment may also offer the opportunity to take on tasks connected to other projects and activities at DTU Skylab.
