We are looking for a skilled and motivated laboratory technician with an interest in the gut microbiome to join our team.

You will be part of our internationally renowned Research Group for Gut, Microbes, and Health at the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). We offer a dynamic and sociable research environment with many exciting challenges and opportunities.

The job
You will be working together with our two experienced lab technicians to ensure that our labs are running smoothly; you will support bachelor, master, and PhD students with their experiments, as well as participate in the execution of lab work for larger projects.

Our expectations of you
We expect you to have a foundation of laboratory skills in microbiology and molecular biology. Prior experience with high throughput DNA extraction and library preparation for sequencing will be an advantage but is not required. You need to be a team player, capable of executing your own tasks and supporting others, with a good head for learning new techniques. The group employs both Danish and English as working language, you are expected to be comfortable with written and spoken communication in at least one of these languages, and in time to master both.

The new colleague we are seeking will ideally be good at planning and structuring their tasks while still being flexible enough to allow for support of the ad hoc challenges and problems that occur during research projects.

As formal qualification you must have a degree as a Laboratory Technician (or equivalent).
